Welcome to my site
The only job I have ever imagined for myself was a reporter. For me, journalism is the opportunity to expose the truth to the public and to tell a story to an audience. I have always believed that the press is the watchdog of government. And I aspire to be a part of that community of people who uncover injustices, cover events, and make sure the government is doing their job.
To achieve this dream, I began my journey at Marquette University in the fall of 2010. As a senior journalism major, I'm beginning to make my mark as a writer. Over the past several years, I have reported for my school's biweekly newspaper, wrote web content for Milwaukee's FOX 6 News and acted as press intern for the Milwaukee's Mayor's Office. Currently, I'm an editorial intern for the Milwaukee Business Journal and am an active participant in the Diederich College of Communication's O'Brien Fellowship, which will be the central focus of my blog this semester. To read more about the work I'm doing with the Hal Bernton of the Seattle Times on climate change and energy, click here.
Ultimately, this blog is not just an opportunity to showcase my writing - but an opportunity to learn and grow. So please, feel free to comment or contact me. If you have any questions about my blogs or writing, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I'll be happy to address any concerns. Constructive criticism and feedback is essential to my progress as a journalist.
